Troisgots is a common French, located in the department of the Manche and the area Basse-Normandie.

Troisgots is located at 15 Kilomètre S of Saint-Lo, Chef-lieu of the Département of the English Channel.

History

Ethymology of Troisgots, spelled " Tresgotz" or Tregoz with the the Middle Ages, probably means " beyond wood " by undoubtedly referring to local topography and more particularly to the slope of the hill going down towards the course of the Transfers which is called wood on the Cadastre.

The name of the east city probably at the origin of the Patronym Tresgots which one finds mainly in Lower Normandy.
