Habitat - distribution
The trochus are marine animals which populate the coral barriers. Their surface of distribution extends between the Sri Lanka, the Îles Ryūkyū, the New Caledonia and the north of the Australia.Since the years 1920, they were introduced into the Îles Cook and in French Polynésie. The trochus are collected on small islands isolated from the west of Australia and Queensland by using small boats. They are collected on the shores with low tide by fishing with feet or while plunging with mask and tuba.
