Triumphs of Binche

The Triomphes of Binche are festivals taking place with Binche.

History

In 1549, the emperor Charles Quint introduced his son, infant it Philippe of Spain, with the rich person Spanish Netherlands which it hoped to bequeath to him. Four knights and four ladies danced a there German but four other lords sought the ladies. The huits knights fought but wild and leafy men appeared and fought the gentlemen while others removed the ladies. August 29th was devoted to the delivery of captive locked up in a castle built near the hunting lodge of Mariemont built for controlling the Marie with a few miles of Binche. The guests feasted by admiring the combat which transfer the release of the ladies. One finishes the day by a Bal masked with the palate of Binche.

August 30th, a Tournoi took place on the place of the city, then the courtiers attended a feast which ended in the spectacle of the Magic Salle where the tables, glazes of confectioneries, went down from the ceiling, appearing the sky decorated with the signs of the zodiac, between four jasper columns. They appeared under a clap of thunder, a rain of dragees and water scented to disappear, vacuums, in the ground. August 31st in the morning, the court left Binche for Mons.
