The Triumphal arch of Kim It-sung is located at the foot of the Colline Moran, at the place where president Kim It-sung made a speech in front of 400.000 people, after his return in Korea, the October 14th 1945.

Inaugurated in April 1982 at the time of the seventieth birthday of president Kim It-sung, the triumphal arch is 60 m high (that is to say 9 m more than the triumphal arch of the place of the Star of Paris), 50,1 m broad and 36,2 m thickness.

The Chant of the general Kim It-sung is registered in relief on the building above the frontage. The two dates registered on the pylons, 1925 and 1945, mark the beginning and the end of the resistance led by Kim It-sung against the Japanese occupation.
