Born in 1923 in the Paris region from Mulhousian parents , the Master-glassmaker Tristan Ruhlmann was one of the promoters of the technique of the stained glasses in flagstone of glass and one owes him in particular the development of the technical of glass on section which makes it possible to give smoothness to the work of the artist. Carrying out a “life of artist”, Tristan had all its life the fever of the voyage. Initially in Alsace then in Corrèze where it meets his wife, in the Saar… and return in Alsace to Schweighouse-on-Moder and Haguenau. It is deceased in 1982.

Its works are dispersed in the whole world, of New York to Munich while passing by Toronto and Coventry (the new cathedral).

In Alsace, its works can be admired with the Bischenberg on the heights of Bischoffsheim like in many churches of which those of Nehwiller close Woerth (Protestant church), Hégeney (Holy-Marguerite church), Niederlauterbach (Vault Our-Lady-of-Oak), Baerenthal (church Holy-Catherine), Kriegsheim, Betschdorf (mixed church of the Assumption of the Virgin), Truchtersheim, Hatten, Rittershoffen (oecumenical stained glass), Haguenau (Saint-Joseph church), Ribeauvillé (vault Holy-Family), Horbourg-Wihr (church St Michel) Kunheim (Church of the Trinity).
