The family of the Sonneratiaceae is a family of plants Dicotylédone S which includes/understands seven species divided into two kinds: Duabanga and Sonneratia L.f.
They are Arbuste S or liana S, at wrinkled sheets, tropical zones, mainly in Africa, with Madagascar, in Malaysia, Australia and in the Pacific Islands.
The kind Sonneratia is one of the components of the Mangrove.
For classification Phylogénétique this family is incorporated in the Lythraceae .
The name of this family was dedicated to the naturalist-traveller Pierre Sonnerat (1745-1814).
