Triolo is a district of the town of Villeneuve d' Ascq in the Département of North.
The district of Triolo is located at the south of the city, close to the districts Ascq, Résidence and Scientific City. It was the first district carried out within the framework of the new city, in the years 1970.
The district counts very many pedestrian paths, in particular close to the schools Taine and Toulouse-Lautrec. It is a calm district which accommodates a population with modest incomes and shelters an important immigrant population (Morocco, Algérie in particular).
Triolo has many sports grounds and several sports halls, of which one besides was completely destroyed (following a case of arson) in the years 1990 then rebuilt. Another room bears the name of Pascal Lahousse, an accidentally died bomb disposal expert.
The district has a modest shopping mall in patio where is a famous cinéclub, Méliès. One finds also various sculptures of modern art.
The college of Triolo is one of the four in France to being adapted for the reception of the handicapped people. The elementary school Hippolyte Taine was in the years 1990 a school controls , where new teaching methods were tested; one proposed there in particular workshops every afternoon with the children with outside contributors. These methods since were deployed in other schools of the city.
The Dupire farm, old firm and old seat of the Public corporation of Installation of Lille East, shelters the offices of many municipal services of Villeneuve d' Ascq. In Triolo one of the two swimming pools of the town of Villeneuve d' Ascq is.
