Trio elétrico
With the Brazil, a trio elétrico (“electric trio”) indicates a truck, equipped with material of sound, forming a kind of scene mobile for the artists. One usually finds some during the carnivals and other festivals of street.
The origin of the trio elétrico go back to the “electric duet” ( dupla elétrica ), formed by Adolfo Antônio Nascimento - known as Dodô - E Osmar Álvares de Macêdo - Osmar - which decided into 1929 to restore an old woman Ford Bigode. With the carnival of this same year, they traversed the streets playing of their electric instruments on the roof of the car equipped with loudspeakers. Their impromptu concert attracted the crowd which followed them through the streets of the city.
The name of trio elétrico was born in 1951, when for the first time, a whole of three musicians arised to the carnival. The “electric duet” had invited to join them their friend and musician Temístocles Aragão to form a trio and to occur in the streets of El Salvador in a Pick-up Chrysler on the sides of which one could read O trio elétrico (the “electric trio”). Osmar played of the will guitarra baiana , with the acute sound, Dodô took care of the violão-Pau-elétrico , in the serious sound, and Aragão, of the triolim , violin with its intermediary. The musical trio had been born.
