Trinley Thaye Dorje

Gyalwa Karmapa is an waked up being, holder of the line of the transmission of the lesson, the line kagyupa.

The teaching of this line finds its origin in the Buddha and was preserved in a pure and authentic way until our days thanks to a transmission of Master with disciple.

Gyalwa Karmapa is the receptacle of this teaching and all the grace which it conveys. Teaching could not be limited to texts, it alive, is tested by large accomplished such Gyalwa Karmapa.

June 7th, 1992, the 14th Dalaï Lama recognized officially Orgyen Trinley Dorje like 17th Karmapa by Shamar Rimpoche.

Current 17th Karmapa Thaye Dorje (born in 1983) was recognized in 1994 by Shamar Rimpoche like authentic reincarnation, after having challenged its first choice. Shamarpa is the second Master highest placed line Karma Kagyu and, as such, person in charge of research concerning the recognition of Karmapa.

In January 1994, Thaye Dorje could leave Tibet occupied by the Chinese and gain his freedom in India. Since then, it receives Buddhist lesson and transmissions there. It also profits from an secondary education, learning English and modern technologies from information.

In December 1996, it directed its first great ceremony in Bodgaya in front of thousands of participants come from the Himalayas. In October 1997, it was invited by the royal family of Bhutan for a first official visit of state, during which it gave lesson and initiations. At the end of 1999, it started its first great international tour in HongKong, Taiwan, in Malaysia, then in Europe. In January 2000, it was accommodated by more than 10.000 people in Germany, Hungary and Austria. It made then stays in France, in Switzerland, and several stages still in Germany, in the Eastern European countries and in Denmark.

In February 2000, it is withdrawn with the monastic hermitage Karma Kagyu of Bost in Auvergne (France) established by its predecessor, where centers of retirement are. There it receives during April the transmission of the " Drubtop Kundu " by Chobgyé Trichen Rinpoché; this one also transmits the wishes of beginner to him on April 7th, 2000. Then, Kunzig Shamar Rinpoché, holder of the line Karma Kagyu, continue to transmit to Gyalwa Karmapa the lesson of the Kagyu School; this phase includes more than 50 initiations and three volumes of lesson compiled of the old Indian Masters - Mahasiddhas - on Mahamoudra. For this same period he studies near his professor Sampa Dordjé of the philosophical texts and other disciplines like logic.

In 2002, at the request of Kunzig Shamar Rinpoché, Gyalwa Karmapa carries out, from June to mid-August, first a 2 months retirement and half with the monastic hermitage of Bost. This retirement is placed under the spiritual direction of Khentchen Trinlé Peldjor Rinpoché. September 2nd, Gyalwa Karmapa, accompanied by Nendo Ténam Rinpoché, begins a new retirement with Kundreul Ling until December 20th.

Since, it continues its formation mainly with Kalimpong in India of North.
