Trinity Church (literally “church of the Trinity”) is a parish church located at the instersection of Wall Street and Broadway in the south of Manhattan, with New York.
In 1696, the governor of the city, Benjamin Fletcher approved the acquisition of a ground by the community Anglican for the construction of a new church. May 6th 1697, the charter had established by Guillaume III of England. The granting of the ground specified a small annual rent which was with the crown of England.
Current Trinity Church is the work of the American architect Richard Upjohn, which conceived it in a style neogothic. It belongs to the National Historic Landmark, from its architecture, but also because of its role in the history of the town of New York. At the time of the consacration of the church on May 1st 1846 (the day of the Rise), its arrow of neogothic inspiration , overcome by a gilded cross dominated the skyline of the south of Manhattan. Trinity Church was thus a welcome Phare for the boats which arrived in the wearing of New York.
In spite of construction many Skyscraper S around the church, Trinity Church preserved very important spiritual values in the heart of Manhattan, and is always used as place of worship and meditation for the Christian .
the Saint Paul vault, which is attached to the Paroisse of Trinity Church is the oldest building of the town of New York to still being used in a continuous way.
