Trimming (horse)
See also: Trimming
A trimming is the preparation of the shoe to work without intending it to shoe.
Some differences are visible:
- one rounds the edges of the wall to limit possible breakage and to allow a good wear.
- one leaves more horn in plate so that walk, even on stones, is not painful for the horse.
The general rule is to make it possible the foot to wear without breaking. It should be noted that all the horses cannot be removed iron . That varies according to its quality of horn, its use (with the box, in bed, contest…) and the type of ground on which it will be brought to evolve/move (sand, stone, park, concrete…)
