Trillium vaseyi
Trillium vaseyi is a herbaceous, long-lived and rhizomateuse plant of the family of the Liliaceae (traditional Classification) or Melanthiaceae (Classification APG II, 2003).
Description
This great species, of the south-east of the United States resembles the red Trille. It flowers at the end of spring in the fresh forests and along the rivers. The flower with pleasant odor, from 6 to 13 cm in diameter to broad petals dark red, is carried by a slightly bent stalk. The sheets rhomboïdes are acuminate. The fruit is a dark red bay.
