TriBeCa is a district of New York located on the island of Manhattan. The term TriBeCa means Triangle Below Canal Street and is a Mot-valise.

The district is coarsely delimited by Canal Street in north, in the south by Park Place, in the west by the Hudson and in the east by Broadway.

Old industrial park, TriBeCa was largely renovated during the last decade. Many warehouses were transformed into lofts and of new trade were established there. It became a residential zone with the mode, where live some Célébrité S, like Mariah Carey, David Letterman or Robert De Niro.

This last contributed in 2002 to create an independent, the TriBeCa Film Festival, to revitalize the district, and more largely the south of Manhattan, affected cinema festival financially by the Attentats of September 11th, 2001.
