Tribe or Tribe, comes from the Arab term " zmâla " who indicates a meeting of tents sheltering of the families and the crews of an Arab chief of clan which accompany it during her displacements. More familiarly indicate a many continuation which lives at the side of a person, and/or who accompanies it everywhere.

On the historical level

The Algérie formed officially part of the Ottoman Empire. Jules de Polignac sought a military success to regild the blazon of the France under Charles X, in July 1830. It decides to make occupy this country.

The May 16th 1843 during the conquest of Algeria, the army of the duke of Aumale, wire of the king Louis-Philippe Ier, seizes the tribe of the emir Abd el-Kader resulting from a pious family.
This tribe is a true camping of an itinerant of some 30.000 people, primarily made up tribe women, children and servants. From Morocco where it takes refuge the emir will continue a Jihâd against the army of the Second Empire where its popularity becomes extraordinary. The Moroccan sultan Abd el-Rahman with his with dimensions will come to lend strong hand to him. He will capitulate in 1847.
The Emir will be imprisoned in France in several places (Amboise, Bordeaux, Marseilles, and Toulon).
Released in 1852 by Napoleon III. The war will last 10 more years so that the Algérie is completely invaded.
Certain historians regard this victory against the tribe as a heroic exploit, but of others rather retain this fact like the paroxysm of the cruelty of the war carried out by the French in Algérie.
After this rendering, the process of the colonization of the Algérie will take its rise.
The colonists will be called roumis by the autochtones, of an Arab word which designates the Christians of Occident, descendants of the Romains. Paradoxically the latter will be described as Pieds-Noirs by the French of the metropolis.

This event gave place between on December 1st, 2004 to January 29th, 2005 with an exposure to Toulon (one of the cities where in particular Abd el-Kader was imprisoned) which was entitled Abd el-Kader in Toulon, hero of the two banks .
