Tri-nations of Rugby at XIII 2006
The edition 2006 of the Tri-Nations of Rugby to XIII is held in Australia and New Zealand. The tournament follows the same format as the editions 2004 and 2005, i.e. each team meets twice and two the best is qualified for the final. At the time of the finale, the Australian ones, beaten by kiwis the last year, take their revenge on the New Zealanders, during a haletant match.
The business Nathan Fien
Nathan Fien, a player born in Australia, is selected in the team of New Zealand, to play against Great Britain. That is possible thanks to the rule of the grandparents, which makes it possible a player to represent a country, if a grandparent were born in this last. However, after the match, it is revealed that Nathan Fien had only its back grandmother of New Zealand nationality. By consequence, the Rugby League International Federation cancelled the victory of New Zealand over Great Britain and Fien was banished tournament.
