Trevor Taylor
Trevor Taylor is an automobile old driver English, born the December 26th 1936, with Gleadless, close to Sheffield.
Biography
British champion of Formula 3 500 cm ³ in 1958, Taylor knows its first experiment in Formule 1 in 1959, at the time of the Grand Prix of Great Britain. In 1960 and 1961, it passes by again at the lower level and argument the British championship of Formule Junior (which replaced F3 in the hierarchy of the single-seat disciplines). Double champion of the discipline in 1960 and 1961 for the account of Lotus, his employer offers to him the possibility of regouter to Formula 1 at the time of the GP of the Netherlands 1961 when it replaces Innes Ireland, wounded.
Then, as from the season 1962, Taylor is definitively engaged in the place of Ireland. But the chance consisting in integrating one of the best stables of the plate quickly will prove to be a gift poisoned for Taylor, directly compared with its fellow-member Jim Clark, then regarded as the best pilot of the world and which profits from all the attentions of the team. After two overall disappointing seasons, the owner of Lotus, Hake Chapman, decides to replace it for insufficiency of results.
In 1964, Taylor finds refuge in independent stable BRP (British Racing Partnership), before carrying out an ultimate appearance Formulates 1 in 1965 of them, on behalf of the Shannon team.
