Trevor Rabin

Trevor Rabin , born the January 13rd 1954 with Johannesbourg in South Africa, is a musician and type-setter of film music.

Beginnings in solo

Wire of a violonist, he studies the piano and discovers the guitar at the 12 years age. Complete musician, he is also singer, percussionnist, bass player and clavierist. He begins his career in groups of Hard-rock and progressive Rock, then accompanies with the guitar and low by the formations by Jazz and Jazz-rock'n'roll.

After having created the Rabbitt group, between 1974 and 1977, it settles with London in 1978, where it records its first album solo, simply entitled Trevor Rabin (also left under the name of Beginnings ). In parallel, he works as producer and musician of studio. He leaves its second album, Face to face , in 1979, then Wolf in 1981, date on which he leaves to the the United States and settles with Los Angeles. It then accompanies in round the group Foreigner with the keyboards.

The Yes adventure

It presents its compositions to Atlantic Records, which suggests to him meeting Chris Squire and Alan White, two of the founders of the group separate Yes since 1979. With the latter and Tony Kaye, it forms in 1981 the Cinéma group, of which music allured Jon Anderson. The rallying of this last naturally brings to re-elect the Yes group. The formation records in 1983, the album 90125 which contains the first and single number 1 of the group, Owner off has Lonely Heart .

Rabin continues the adventure with Yes which records in 1987 the album Big generator , on which it ensures of the vocal parts. Whereas the members of Yes, with new separated, dispute the paternity of the name of the group, Rabin records a new album solo, Can' T Look Away , left in 1989. It still takes part in a new formation of Yes, gathered in 1991 for the album Union and the corresponding round. It then binds friendship with Rick Wakeman which it will off accompany on its album solo Return to the Center the Earth in 1999. Rabin is invested then in the role of producer for the album Talk in 1994.

Film musics

After a disappointing round in 1995, Trevor Rabin decides to leave Yes and to be directed towards the composition of film music. One owes him in particular the original soundtracks of the Wings of the hell (1997), with Mark Mancina, of Armageddon and Ennemi of State (1998), with Harry Gregson-Williams, of 60 second stopwatch (2000), of Bad Boys II (2003) or of Of the snakes on the aircraft (2006).

In spite of appearances, Trevor Rabin forever belonged to the Media Ventures TEAM strictly speaking, refusing even to be affiliated to the studio by preoccupation with an independence. Simply, its bonds with Jerry Bruckheimer which itself is very connected to Hans Zimmer made that it regularly was to work with members of the studio or with the studio even (with in particular Harry Gregson-Williams, Steve Jablonsky or his/her friend Mark Mancina).
