Trevor David Pinnock , born the December 16th 1946 with Canterbury in the Kent (England), is a Leader and British Claveciniste , specialist famous in the Baroque music.
Child, he is pupil of the chorus of the Cathédrale of Canterbury then studies the Orgue and the Clavecin with the Royal College off Music. He begins with London with the Royal Festival Hall with the Galliard Ensemble in 1966. In 1973, it bases The English Concert, specialized together in the interpretation of Baroque music on old instruments, which it will direct until in 2003, date on which it yields its station to the Violoniste Andrew Manze to devote itself to an international career of recitalist and invited chief.
To the head of English Concert, it gives to the disc the integral Concertos for harpsichord of Bach, holding the role of soloist, as well as the philosopher's stones of the repertory baroque for orchestra, the integral of the symphonies of Mozart and, with the chorus of English Concert, several major works of music choral society. At the sides of the violonist Rachel Podger, it also recorded the integral of the Sonates for violin and harpsichord and of the Sonates for violin and low continues of Bach.
It makes its beginnings with New York in 1988 where it directs the opera of Haendel, Giulio Cesare in Egitto . From 1991 to 1996, it occupies the artistic position of director of the Orchestre of the National center of Arts of Ottawa, then that of advising artistic until 1998.
In 1992, it is promoted Commandeur in the Ordre of the British Empire and, in 1998, Officier in the Ordre of Arts and the Letters.
