Hero (英雄, Ying xiong ) is a film of Chinese saber (Wu Xia Pian) carried out by Zhang Yimou, left in 2002.
Synopsis
With Period of kingdoms combatants, whereas China is divided into seven areas which are made constantly the war, the king of the Qin, with great reinforcements of battles and violent invasions, dreams to reunify this Empire now scattered. Broken blade, Snowflake and Starry Sky, three of the largest warriors of the kingdom of the Zhao who are also the conspirators recognized like most active and most dangerous would have, says one, shot down by a man which one knows few things, but very won over to the cause of the king: Without Name. To reward it as it should be, king de Qin agrees to receive the mysterious hero.

History
Located in the China of the period of the Kingdoms combatants, the film tells a legend concerning the king of Qin, the attempted murder exerted on its person by legendary warriors.Although the name of the king is never mentioned in film, one can identify it by his dream to unify the China, which its assassins it believe able to make: it is probably about the king Ying Zheng (-259 - -210, reign -246 - -210). In -221, it unified China under its command and proclaimed Qin Shi Huang, i.e. first emperor of China .
The pronunciation of Qin in Mandarin is (and not, as one can hear it in the version French E of film). It is what gave its name to the country in the Western languages, although it is called Zhongguo , Empire of the medium, in Mandarin.
