Treize-Septiers is a common French, located in the department of the the Vendée and the area Pays of the Loire.
History
TREIZE-SEPTIERS… This name is single among the few 36.000 communes of France. The manuscript of Luçon is older texts where one finds this name in the Latin form " De Tredecim Sextariis ". Setier (which one wrote formerly Septier or Sextier) of Latin Sextarius is an old measurement of grain or liquid. This measurement varied according to the localities. Does the name of Treize-Septiers come from the territorial extent or paid an in kind royalty to the Lord of the place by the first inhabitants? Between these various conjectures, the historians lean for the royalty.
It is not impossible that some populations occupied the marshy zone of the borough of Treize-Septiers, of the prehistoric vestiges can attest some.
The Romans left some traces of their passage: a way Gallo Roman (currently hidden 50 cm under the ground) passes near the village of Hinchère, a villa in Godelinières.
At the 14th century, the castle of Ganuchères (To click on the bond to read the history of the castle) is built on a headland. At the 15th century, the family of the Rock Saint Andre settles. At the 15th century, the castle, taken by storm, is plundered and set fire to. There remain only some sections of wall about it.
Treize-Septiers largely suffered during the revolution. After the passage of the republican columns, there remain nothing any more but ruins: burnt church and presbytery.
During the 19th century, the population chichement saw products of an ungrateful ground. The economic advancement goes back to a few tens of years by the establishment of a factory of shoes (Ets Arima) which counted to 400 people and of a factory of pieces of furniture (Ets Chaudière). Family Of the Rock Saint-Andrew
The most famous Lord of Ganuchères, of Gestière is incontestably Holy Gilles of the Rock Andre named in 1667 chief of squadron of the royal armies.
Abbot Lelievre
Born in Treize-Septiers on October 24th, 1874 and deceased with Neuilly on the Seine on July 23rd, 1944. Oldest son of Pierre Lelièvre and Hyacinthe Guicheteau of Litaudière, it enters to the small seminar of Chavagnes-in-Paillers in 1886. In 1896, it joined the great seminar of Luçon and it is ordered priest in 1901. He is successively professor among Jesuits, and cleaned parish in Paris. Attracted by the literature, it starts to write poems, plays. With the opening of the hostilities, with the First World War, he is voluntary chaplain. Wounded in 1915, it keeps its paralyzed left arm. This act of war is worth the Military Cross and the legion of honor to him.
He is the author of ten works: " Their heart is immortal " " A way of priest in the fray " …
During the second world war, it is in Paris and safe Jewish people of the deportation. It rests with the cemetery of Treize-Septiers.

Ferdinand Jauffrineau
Large disabled ex-serviceman 14 - 18. It is promoted Chevalier of the Legion of Honor on a purely military basis in 1937. Founder of the factory of shoes ARIMA. He was mayor of 1935 to 1945.
Small Eugene Abbot
Cleaned parish during 39 years of 1906 à1945, strong and original personality characterizes it. It made build the private school of boys.
Vincent Ansquer
Born in Treize-Septiers on January 11th, 1925 and deceased on May 31st, 1987 with Levallois-Perret (Hauts-de-Seine) on May 31st, 1987. Founder of the national Price of art of living. Minister Commercial and craft industry of 1974 pennies the government Chirac at 1976 then Minister for the Quality of the Life of 1976 to 1977 pennies the government Bar.
In Treize-Septiers, a street, the industrial park and the sports complex bear its name.
