The trebbiano giallo is a Italian Cépage of white grapes.

Origin and geographical distribution

It is classified auxiliary type of vine in DOC. Bianco Capena, Castelli Romani, Cerveteri, Colli della Sabina, Colli Etruschi Viterbesi, Colli Lanuvini, Controguerra, Is! Is!! Is!!! di Montefiascone, Tarquinia and Wine Santo di Montepulciano. In 1998, it covered 4.774 ha.

Characters ampelographic

  • End of the young cottony branch, green blanchâtre with dyed with carmine edging.
  • Young sheets green bronzed with white cottony lower part.
  • adult Sheets, 3 (seldom) with 5 lobes with elliptic higher sines, a petiolar sine in open or closed quadrant, teeth angular, average, in two series, a slightly aranéeux limb.

Farming aptitudes

Maturity is of third late time: 35 days after the chasselas.

Technological potential

The bunches are average with large and the bays are of intermediate size. The bunch is cylindrio-conical and sometimes winged. The type of vine is of good strength and productive preferring a size of average expansion.

The wines are of yellow, pleasant and delicate color.
