Treaty of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer (1632)

The Traité Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer was signed the March 29th, 1632. It turned over the News-France (Quebec) to the authority of the France which the England had seized in 1629.

The July 19th 1629, an English fleet under the command of David Kirke, had forced the capitulation of Quebec and its governor, Samuel de Champlain.

The treaty also provided to the France a compensation for goods seized during the catch of the News-France.
