Treaty of Grenade
the Treaty of Grenade signed the November 11th 1500, by Louis XII and Ferdinand II of Aragon envisaged to act in concert to attack the Royaume of Naples, then, after the victory, to divide it, as much as possible with equal shares.
The king of France was to receive Naples, the Campanie, Gaète, Labor, the the Abruzzi and the province of Campobasso with the titles of king de Naples and Jerusalem.
The king and the queen of Spain reserved the extreme south of the country, the Pouilles with the titles of king de Sicile, of duke of Calabria and Apulie.
Two provinces had been forgotten in this division: the Basilicate and the Capitanate. They became the cause of the litigation which was going again to oppose France and Spain when Palice occupied them.
