Treaty of Gaillon
The treated of Gaillon is signed between Richard Lion-hearted and Philippe Auguste, the day of the Saint Hilaire, the January 14th 1196 between Gaillon and Vaudreuil (two cities of current the department of the the Eure). It is before a a whole truce between the two protagonists.
The king of France sees himself granting his conquests in Normandy (Vexin) and suzerainty on the Auvergne but must concede the Berry and several places.
