Treaty of Andelot
In Andelot (today Andelot-Blancheville in the department French of the Haute-Marne) had place, Friday November 28th 587, a meeting between Gontran king of the Francs of Burgundy, and the queen-mother Brunehilde of Austrasie, come from Metz with his/her son, the king Childebert II, and the princes its small sons, Thibert (two years) and Thierry (new born), great nephews of Gontran.
The treated of Andelot stipulates that the alive last will receive the field of the other. Gontran regards its nephew as his heir. In exchange, Childebert is committed protecting the princess Clotilde, the girl of king Gontran after the death of this one. If Childebert has suddenly died in first, king Gontran commits himself protecting princes Thibert and Thierry, the queen Brunehilde mother, the sister of the king, the princess Clodosinde and the queen Faileuba.
Gontran recognizes in Childebert II all that belonged to his/her father Sigebert except for Paris, of Châteaudun, Vendôme and Ressons. Childebert II obtains the city of Meaux, Senlis, Tours, Poitiers, Avranches, Aire, Couserans, Labourd and Albi with their territories.
The problem of the douaire is also regulated that Chilpéric had constituted for Galswinthe in Aquitaine and who includes/understands the cities of Bordeaux, Limoges, Cahors, Béarn and Bigorre). Brunehilde is seen some confirming the property, but Gontran will manage it in usufruct its life during, except the city of Cahors which is allotted directly to Brunehilde.

In 1987, the post office emitted a stamp to celebrate the 1400e birthday of the treaty of Andelot. This stamp is illustrated by Eve Luquet.
