Voyage at the end of the hell ( The Deer Hunter ) is a film américano-British of Michael Cimino left in 1978.

Synopsis

He tells how the Guerre of Vietnam affected the life of a small town of Pennsylvania. The main actors of film are Robert De Niro, John Cazale, John Savage, Christopher Walken, Meryl Streep and George Dzundza.

Comment

The film is generally regarded as one of most outstanding on the Guerre of Vietnam, to be interested less in the scenes of war as such as to psychology of the characters and their traumatisms, in particular after their return to the country. This second film of Cimino is also the only one of its thin catalog of films which was recognized as of its exit like an undeniable success. Turned 5 years after Delivery (1972) of John Boorman, the film of Cimino, borrows several ideas to him, a group of friends leaves an environment peaceful and civilized for an unknown and hostile territory where they are not welcome, the men will be confronted with an extreme violence and to death, none will return unscathed of this experiment. The scene of the fracture open on the leg of Burt Reynolds is similar to that John Savage.
