The Trasimène was a department of the first Roman republic of 1798 with 1799 with Perugia for/> chief-lieu.
This name was taken again for old a French department whose chief town was Spolète and for Arrondissement S Spolète, Foligno, Perugia and Todi. This department, created the July 15th 1809 was returned to the the Holy See in 1814.
