Transparent of Croncels
The Transparente of Croncels (also called Apple of Croncels , Glasapfel ) is a variety of Pomme Diploïde obtained by Charles Baltet with Troyes in 1869 (Croncels is a suburb of Troyes).
Description
Its skin of color yellow chechmate transfering with the white and covered with many clear gray points gives an impression of transparency.The apple, of good size, has a white-yellowish flesh, little crunching, with coarse grains, slightly acidulous with a rather fine flavor.
It can be used out of apple with knife dice harvest but made a cooking apple ideal.
Culture
The tree is very vigorous, very resisting cold and the various diseases and parasite S (except the Carpocapse) and very productive (with light a Alternance). It pushes all types of grounds of course.It is collected at the end of August at the beginning of November but the collected fruits do not mature any more. The variety tends to mark in the event of shock and is thus not very transportable.
This variety is sometimes used like Porte-greffe because of its excellent resistance to the lanigerous Puceron but the " Transparente" its strength transmits to the grafted variety. It cutting also very well like the Scabious .
