Transmitter of Villebon-sur-Yvette
The site of emission of Villebon-sur-Yvette is intended to feed the south-west of the Paris region. The first installations were built in 1934 and were brought into service in 1935. They sheltered at the time the most powerful transmitter in medium waves of France.
After sabotage by the Germans, the transmitter sets out again in 1945. Another mishap, the pylons will be sabotaged by OAS in 1961.
In 1965, a second transmitter will be brought into service to diffuse France Culture.
Currently, a transmitter diffuses City Radio (France Paris Blue) and others, local radios.
The center shelters also transmitters of television for the six hertzian chains and was one of the first site to emit TNT, it as of the March 31st 2005.
