Transmitter of Hamburg-Billstedt

The transmitting Hamburg-Billstedt is a transmitting station located at Hamburg-Billstedt, built in 1934.

It belongs to the public service of broadcasting of Norddeutscher Rundfunk which exploits it partly. From 1934 to 1949, it employed as antenna transmission a wire fixed on the top of a tower out of wooden of 145 Mr. In 1941 his size is reduced to 84.5 meters; 1949 it is demolished.

In 1940, a second antenna in the shape of an antenna of sector of triangle was built. This antenna allowing the transmission on a great choice of Fréquence S. It was demolished in the Années 1950. In 1949/50, a 198 meters height mainmast with an air camp and an antenna of transmission for waves ultracourtes and TV on its top were built. Of this mast, between 1953 and 1962, the program of the German transmitter of long waves was announced. This program was transmitted in special mode of modulation, the modulation of simple edge line compatible, allowing a smaller bandwidth and the possibility of reception with the conventional receivers. Since this mast was under high voltage the antennas for waves ultracourtes and TV on its top were fed via a line of Goubot. In first half of the years '60 this air mast was dismounted and the real installation built. It is composed:

Mast with a height of 300 bills of quantities, for waves ultracourtes and TV, built in 1960.
Mast for medium waves with a 184 meters height in height. It is thus equipped with an insulator of separation in a face of 101 meters.
Mast for medium waves aves a 120.9 meters height and a diameter of 0.7 meter. This mast was built in 1939. It was held until 1963 in Osterloog and was dismounted in this year and was rebuilt in Hamburg-Billstedt.
Mast reflectors with a 77 meters height isolated against the ground, built in 1979.
