It was destroyed in 1944 by the German forces at the time of the Second world war.The transmitter was rebuilt and brought into service the October 19th 1952, with a new transmitter of a power of 250 kw and an antenna a height of 308 Mr. In 1957, the power of transmission was increased to 600 kw, in 1974 to 1.000 kw and 1981 to 2.000 kw (reduced to 1000 kw the night). In 1974, a second mast of 350 m was built and the first existing pylon was raised to 350 Mr.
Between 1939 and 1997, the Station broadcast transmitting of Allouis was also used for the radiophonic diffusion in Short waves. This activity was transferred to Issoudun in 1998 and the antennas were destroyed. With most extremely of this activity, the center short waves had 4 transmitters of 100 kw and a transmitter of 4 kw. The zone of emission was primarily Western and Eastern Europe, as well as the North Africa.
Since 1977, the transmitter of Allouis is also used for the transmission of the time signals starting from a Atomic clock installed in the principal building.
The contract of diffusion established between TDF and Radio France is signed to go until in 2018. The transmitting center could die out on this date, after the installation in France of the numerical diffusion DAB (substitute of MF Frequency modulation). Only a diffusion DRM could save transmitting center TDF of Allouis.
Technique

Their format of transmission is similar to that of DCF77. The signal comes from Paris by special Phone line. A line of help also comes from Issoudun where the signal of France Inter arrives by the domestic network of the radio-relay systems of TDF.Allouis has a scientific and legal vocation.
