Transjurassienne
The Transjurassienne is a French sporting test of Ski touring. Organized since 1998 by association Trans' Organization the race which did not comprise in the beginning that only one test of 76 km grew rich with the passing of years by several tests:
- a secondary test in free technique of 54 km
- a test in traditional style of 50km: Transju' Classic (innovation 2006)
- a test of 25 km: MiniTrans
- a test " Promotion" (without classification) of 10 km: Trans' Promotion
A test for the children, the Transjeune is organized first Wednesday of February on courses of various distances according to the ages.
Transjurassienne is the only French test with being registered with the calendier of the Worldloppet since 1981, world challenge of the races of ski touring of long distance. It is the second race long distance of the world after the Swedish Vasaloppet (90km).
In the form of the 76 km, the competitors carry out a course crossing the departments of the the Jura and the Doubs, with a small incursion to Switzerland, in the Vallée of Joux. Between Lamoura (the Jura) and Mouthe (Doubs), passing by the villages of Prémanon, Russet-red the, Wood-with Amont, Brassus, Bellefontaine, Vault-of-Wood, Pre Poncet, Lime-New, Small-Lime.
On uneven of 510 m, the difficulties are omnipresent: more or less rigorous temperatures, strong rises like that of Risoux and celebrates it coast of the " Country cottage of Ministres" , fast descent and sinuous towards Bellefontaine.
History
The race is created in 1979 under the name of Progressime by Jacky Mandrillon and Georges Berthet. the very first edition was cancelled for lack of snow and should have been run in the direction Mouthe - Lamoura.In September 1997, Trans' Organization, the association of the 10 clubs of ski of the course, is created to take the changing of the Regional committee of Ski of the Jurassic Solid mass until there organizing of the race.
The transjurassienne knew its record of participation in 2006 with 4450 participants (4365 in 2005,3725 in 1985)
The lack of snow involved 5 cancellations of the test since its creation into 1979,1990,1993,2001 and 2007. Following cancellation in 2001 of the tests of Transjurassienne for lack of snow, the Trans' roller, tests of roller and roller ski, was created. Following the cancellation of 2007, Trans' Organization created Transju' trail.
