Transformation (genetic)

The transformation , in the field of the Génétique, is the integration of a fragment of DNA in a cell, which involves a modification of the Phénotype of the organization receiver, in a foreseeable way or not. The new character is hereditary, therefore the transformation allows the genetic transfer of information well.

The transformation occurs naturally in the bacteria, which causes genetic recombinations and the appearance again genome. It is a factor of evolution species.
