Transatlantic is a Supergroupe of progressive Rock formed in 2000 by the Chanteur/Claviériste Neal Morse of Spock' S Beard and the Batteur Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.

The group was at the beginning to include the guitarist Jim Matheos of Fates Warning, but this one finally was not able to take part in the project. Morse and Portnoy replaced it by Roine Stolt, the singer/guitarist of The Flower Kings. The group is also composed of the Bassiste Pete Trewavas of the group Marillion

Their first album (double), SMPT: E (2000), received excellent criticisms: Robert Taylor de All Music Guides () written: “One of best the progressive music rock'n'roll ever written! ” this album was followed by bridge across forever , like 2 lives: Live in Europe and Live in America (2001) This group is today in sleep and nothing lets predict of a reformation of the 4 musicians.
