Trans-Siberian Orchestrated
Trans-Siberian Orchestrated (often shortened in TSO) is a Orchestre Rock created in 1996 by Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel and Jon Oliva. It is known mainly for its resumptions of songs of Christmas.
Biography
TSO was created with New York in 1996 by the type-setters Paul O'Neill and Robert Kinkel like by the singer of Savatage, Jon Oliva. O' Neill already had produced and directed rock groups such as Aerosmith, Humble Magpie or the Scorpions. It started to work with Kinkel and Oliva when it wrote for Savatage and that it produced them.Music industry had not warmly accommodated the concept of the playing group of the musics of Christmas in a style Rock'n'roll-opera, but this one rather quickly showed success near the adults as well as of the young people.
Their first album, Christmas Eve And Other Stories , left in 1996 and remains currently more sold. The Christmas Attic , left in 1998, is a similar conceptual album, taking as a starting point Christmas. In 2000, they left their first album (and single until now) not having milked to Christmas: Beethoven' S Last Night is an album concept telling the last night of Beethoven on Earth, during which it meets Fate (Destiny), his Twist son and Méphistophélès. After a round of several years, they record a new album, Lost Chistmas Eve in 2004, and leave the box The Christmas Trilogy which contains their three CD on Christmas as well as a DVD, The Ghosts Of Christmas Eve .
Since beginning 2005, the group works on a new album, Nightcastle , envisaged for 2007. It will not be inspired by the topic of Christmas and will contain probably their version of Carmina Burana, which they had played at the time of the rounds of 2004 and 2005. This round of 2005 fact besides part of the ten rounds which met the most success during the year, bringing back almost 40 million dollars.
