With the Senegal, the training of engineer is consisted two titles:

• the rank of planning engineer which is allotted after 5 years of studies in a school of engineers or an institute and sanctioned by the defense of a report in last year. (baccalaureat + 5 years of studies full-time).

This diploma is delivered by public schools recognized and approved by the State, and which depend on the university, even if they are autonomous. Among them, one can quote:

• the polytechnic University (ESP) which is with dimensions of the country and which has a regional vocation
• the multinational University of telecommunication

It should be noted that the access to these schools is very selective (school results + entrance examination) which makes that the prizes winner left these schools represent the elite of the Senegalese education system.

• the rank of engineer technologist who corresponds to (baccalaureat + 4 years of studies) delivered by public schools or institutes (but most of the time formations are paying and constitute a means for the high-level techniciens of obtaining a higher rank). Currently private schools make their appearance and deliver diplomas for the occupation of engineer technologists most of the time.
