With the Cinema, a trailer is an advertizing clip which presents a Film which will leave soon. There exists one in general arouses (called “Teaser” in English) in early advertisement; diffused until several months before the exit of film. Followed then by the true trailer, final (called Trailer in English), which is more consistent.

Same manner, in Television, a band announces presents a program diffused soon, in general on the same chain.

Since 2003, the French company Willup adapted the principle of the trailer to the Théâtre and diffuses the trailers through the televisual media and Internet.

In the field of the video games, trailers (the English term trailer card is very widespread) are used same manner as for films.
