Career
Tracy Austin creates sensation in 1977 when it disputes the Tournoi of Wimbledon at fourteen years, with its dress and its feather beds. It reaches the third turn, lost against Chris Evert, number one world. If it marks only two plays, it gains the US later Open two years by beating Martina Navrátilová (number one) in half and precisely Chris Evert (number two, which dreamed of a fifth consecutive title) finally: it to date remains youngest gaining test.The April 7th 1980, it becomes at seventeen years, three months and twenty-six days youngest number one of the history of tennis. Monica Saddles (in 1991) and Martina Hingis (in 1997) will improve successively this record. Without however imposing in Large Slam, 1980 are also the most prolific season of Tracy Austin, with eleven titles into simple.
In 1981, it again gains the US Open, after having overcome Martina Navrátilová with the decisive play of the third set. It at the end of the year gains then the Masters by still eliminating Evert and Navrátilová.

Tracy Austin gained thirty-four titles on the circuit WTA (of which twenty-nine into simple) during its career. It also took down the mixed double with Wimbledon in 1980 with her brother John.
In 2005, the American journalists of Tennis Magazine elected Tracy Austin with the 32e row of the " forty great champions of Tennis of these forty last années" (men & women confused), behind Justine Henin-Hardenne (31e) and in front of Hana Mandlíková (33e).
It is introduced with the Hall off Famed in 1992, at only twenty-nine years.
