The Tracker S-2FT also called TurboFIRECAT is a Avion bomber of water.
It is about a derived version from the aircraft from anti-submarine Lutte Grumman S-2 Tracker , built at the origin for the US Navy whose 1st flight goes back to December 1952.
After their withdrawal of the active service in 1976, displaced apparatuses were repurchased by the State of California to be converted into plane of fire control. The transformation is carried out by the Canadian company Conair Aviation. It is the latter which charters Tracker of the French Civil security.
It is a bi- Turbopropulseur with high wing, equipped with a three-wheeled Gear landing. The wings are folding on the ground. The two engines deliver a power of 1.424 cv each one allowing a cruising speed of 300 km/h with an autonomy of 3:30. It is controlled by a person who can be assisted of a copilot who has the same orders of flight as the pilot.
In France the pilots of Tracker are old drivers of hunting coming either from the naval aeronautics or of the air force. In general the missions of Tracker are carried out with two apparatuses into simultaneous. They are deployed in general in first intervention at the time of the starting points of fire, the dropping of delaying and their speed of action helping with the fight of first level, before a possible intervention of Canadair on wider disasters.
The tank of Delaying has a capacity of 3.400 liters and includes/understands 4 compartments sélectionnables.
The plane is equipped with two Turbopropulseur S Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67AF with free turbine, equipped with inversion of lead, and developing 1424 SHP (1509 ESHP) until ISA + 31°C.
