TrackMania Nations ESWC
TrackMania Nations ESWC (shortened TMN, for T rack' Me ania NR ations), is a play of race of the series of the TrackMania which takes again the principle of it: races on tracks or maps (circuits) built by the players, without collisions where the final classification is given only by its own control. In mode Time Attack (Against-the-watch in French), the players try to carry out best time on one or more lathes. In mode Rounds (by turns), all the competitors start at the same time, the goal being to arrive at the best place, in order to mark the most points possible, until somebody reaches the number of points necessary to enclose the part in progress (given by the waiter). Play with the characteristic to be completely free, and consequently downloadable via Internet (and this since the January 28th 2006), but so available in the versions boxes of TrackMania Sunrise and TrackMania. It was developed especially for ESWC so that it is played in competition. In fact the advertizing revenues remunerate the development team thanks to the panels of publicity located on the circuits where some marks as NVIDIA see their logo being affixed there. The cars available in this opus are halfway between the Formule 1 and the Buggy, each country having its own colors of vehicle.
TrackMania Nations and Electronic Sports World Cup
TrackMania Nations was developed expressly for the ESWC (Electronic Sports World Cup) 2006 which disputed with Paris Bercy during the summer 2006. To take part in this famous world cup, the players will have to dispute one or more competitions validated ESWC and organized in their respective countries. These competitions will determine the players representing their nation with the next world cup. This one was respectively gained in 2006 and 2007, by French and Dutch whose pseudos are " Carl" and " Xenogear". The committee of the ESWC announced that the play will be again an official discipline for the year 2008.
Other competitions
Beyond ESWC, other competitions are organized on Internet generally in the forms of leagues or tournaments with direct elimination. The majority of these leagues oppose teams of 5 players in endiablées and high level races.
Accessories
The play includes an editor of circuit. This one is extremely powerful, since it is that used by the developers of the play to design all the official circuits of the play. It includes moreover an editor named Mediatracker which makes it possible to insert elements of the cinematographic type in the course of the courses (posting of texts to the screen, tremors and changes of camera, trails of the cars…) but it is also used to create intros for beginning of levels or kinematics of end of levels. The play also includes a workshop of painting to personalize its car. It offers also an editor of replays, making it possible everyone to simply create vidéos of race. Moreover, the replays can be exported in video files of various formats of compression and with the selected definition.
Technique
The collisions being absent from play by choice of the editor, the only concern of the players is to have the most perfect trajectory and to have the management of the drift transistor of most precise in order to carrying out best time. Equipped with a physical engine combining realism and arcade, the players exploit it to the maximum to gain the least hundredth of second by tightening the turns and while sometimes preferring to try Wall Hit rather (to rebound on the walls) than to slow down to preserve more an high speed.
