Trégornan-in-Glomel

Trégornan-in-Glomel (for Tré.Korant , trève of Holy Corentin ) is one of the three Paroisse S of Glomel located at the limit of the Morbihan in the department of the Coast-with Armor in France.

Origins and description

The parish is founded with the hinge of the 5th century and the 6th century, within the framework of the evangelization of the higher valley of l´ It by Saint Corentin, bishop of Quimper towards 490.

L´église Saint-Corentin dates from the 15th century, its Nef of half of the 16th century, its Porche southern and its Transept of second half of the 16th century, its Sacristie of 1627 and its bell-tower of the end of the 17th century or the beginning of the 18th century. It was restored in 1850.

In the west of l´enclos, l´ rustic Ossuaire d´aspect is openwork of three arcades semicircular arch, that of the center being trefoil. The inscription: " Resquiescant in pace " is always of topicality since the ossuary still shelters bones.

Vis-a-vis the southern porch of the church, the martyrdom of first half of the 17th century includes/understands a Mise at the Tomb and a Piéta as well as vestiges in bad condition. The cross was replaced in 1862.
