The Toyota Aygo is an urban car for 4 people with 3 and 5 doors sold by Toyota.

History

Aygo is built in a factory common to PSA and Toyota with Kolín in Tchéquie. It uses the same platform thus and in common comprises very many parts with the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107. These three vehicles were presented in first world to the Motor-show of Geneva and launched in series the February 28th 2005. Aygo should be marketed in May 2005.

The decision to produce these cars of line entry was made the July 12th 2001, when the presidents of Toyota and on PSA Peugeot Citroen, Fujio Cho and Jean-Martin Folz, decided to produce a joint small car to share the development costs and to guarantee of them to him gravitational tariffs starting from 8500 euros.

They will have to compete with the Renault Twingo, Smart Fortwo, FIAT Seicento, Daihatsu Cuore, Daewoo Matiz and Volkswagen Fox. The aygo was marketed in France on June 20th, 2005.

Specificities

Aygo is dissociated by its front fires, its ventilated grill (contrary in C1 and with the 107 or it is closed) and with its more reduced ventilation grill. The back part, the doors and the wings before him are specific contrary to C1 and 107 which divide these elements.

It should be available in three different completions.

The front head-rest are integrated, the rear windows are with compass.

Engine

From the point of view of the motorization, they are blocks of 1 liter gasoline of Toyota origin and the diesel 1,4 diesel liter HDi, equipped with the most recent technologies. Safety and the habitability are also point strong of these three innovations: four people can take seat there comfortably. Natural mother is not remains about it since the consumption of these models proves in lower part of the average, compared with the vehicles in the same way standard.
