The Toyota Avensis is a model of Automobile built with Burnaston with the Derbyshire available into four and five doors and a station-wagon. A minivan named the Toyota Avensis Verso is on another platform.

History

1997

The choice between three engines gasoline (1,6 - 1,8 and 2 liters) and one 2 liters turbo-diesel. Built well and soft it provides few feelings of control. In 2000 a light final improvement of the front face, an engine 2 L with turbo and a more sporting version SR are available.

2003

A new rather massive body and with the suspension more effective than comfortable.

2005

A new engine 2,4 L with direct injection of 163 ch with 3.800 tr/min with a double tree of balancing and synthetic resin pinions and a new automatic box 5 reports/ratios. A new diesel engine is also available. Its power is with the choice of 150 or 177 ch. La version 177 ch (Clean Power) is the diesel engine cleanest of the current production.
