The Toyota Auris is a car produced by the automobile mark Japanese Toyota, in the segment above Yaris.

It is about a truck two volumes with forage ladder, to 3 or 5 doors and which succeeds in this form the Toyota Corolla; which Corolla remains produced, on the same platform, with a body specific to three volumes. In practically all the countries Auris and Corolla… except in France cohabit where only first is imported.

It is marketed in France since March 2007.

The cockpit is composed of a central console forming an arch inspired, according to Toyota, of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris.

The appearance of two small green arrows (one directed upwards, the other downwards), indicates to the driver the most convenient moment to change gear.

The version Clean Power (diesel of 177 ch) is characterized by its suspension will multibras with the back, whereas the other versions are satisfied with an axle of torsion.

Five motorizations are available:

- 1.4 VVT-i (97 ch /5 manual speeds) - 1.6 DVVT-i (124 ch /5 manual speeds) - 1.4 D-4D (90 ch /5 manual speeds) - 2.0 D-4D (126 ch /6 manual speeds) - 2.0 D-4D (177 ch /6 manual speeds)

The word Auris is derived from the Latin word aurum which means gold .

A more luxurious and more powerful version of Auris, equipped with one 2,4 liters gasoline, is also proposed in Japan under Blade name.
