The following table comprises the cities of more than 9.000 inhabitants, their names in two transcriptions and in Mongolian, the listed population on January 5th, 2000 as well as estimates for on January 1st, 2006. The administrative area (the Aimag) is indicated, except for Ulan-Bator which is an autonomous municipality.
