Town hall of Metz

The Town hall of Metz point of disjunction the town hall of Metz. This building of traditional style French was classified Historic building in 1922. It was build of 1769 with 1771 per the architect and theorist Jacques François Blondel, professor with the Académie of architecture.

Built in Pierre de Jaumont, it has a long frontage of two 92 meters stages giving on the place of Weapons vis-a-vis the Gothic cathedral Saint-Etienne. Its frontage include/understand 9 arcades surrounded by two fore-parts whose pediments were decorated by J. - C.Rollier. Inside the building, after the Péristyle is a monumental staircase which leads to the large reception room.

Among interior decorations one can note the 2 statues, representing the Justice and the Prudence which decorate the staircase; as well as Stained glasses of Laurent Marshal.
