Personalities related to the commune

François Ravaillac, assassin of the King Henri IV known as was born in Touvre in 1578 in certain writings. This legend rests on the fact that there exists in Touvre a house which the popular tradition calls " the castle of Ravaillac" , but which belonged forever to the Ravaillac family. It should be noted that no document of files of Touvre mentions the Ravaillac patronym.

Actually, it was born with Angouleme, where its family was established since several generations.
