Toutlemonde
Toutlemonde is a common French, located in the department of Maine-et-Loire and the area Pays of the Loire.
Its inhabitants is called Toutlemondais.
Geography
It is located in the periphery of Cholet.It is juxtaposed with the communes of Cholet, of Mazières-in-Mauges, Maulévrier, Vezins, Chanteloup-the-Wood and Nuaillé.
History
Although mentioned in certain documents of files going back to 1622, the legend wants that its name comes owing to the fact that the tisserands from Maulévrier, of Yzernay, Loublande, of Cholet… in short, " everyone " gathered here each 1st Sunday of September, and this since the XVIIIe century. The three contracted words would have remained.This name failed to cost the life 21 Toutlemondais during the summer 1944. August 7th, a van of resistant goes to Cholet to deposit a loading of recently parachuted weapons there. Embourbé in a sunken lane, the convoy draws the attention of the Germans. After having cut down it, the Germans decide to encircle the borough of Toutlemonde. In the evening, all the houses are excavated and the men gathered for the night in a class of the school. Sixty-six on the whole.
The Mayor, quickly slackened, decides to write at once a letter with the sub-prefect to alert it. The young person toutlemondaise charged to carry this one benefitted from it to warn a certain Maurice Ulm, Alsacien of origin and working in Cholet, to be used as interpreter and to try to convince German of their mistake.
After some summary interrogations, German had designated 21 hostages, of which the Mayor, that they were on the point of shooting in the schoolyard if the recipients of the weapons were not denounced to them. After rough discussions, Maurice Ulm succeeds in convincing the Germans of their error. About midday, all the men could regain their dwelling, unscathed but extremely moved.

Economy
The major part of the population works in the large companies of Cholet.Agriculture: pastures, mixed-farming, bovines.
The city has a grocer, a bakery, two mechanics, a cuisinist, a company of clothes industry, a bar-tobacco-press, a carpenter and a company of metallurgy.
It belongs to the Communauté of agglomeration of Choletais.
Equipment
It has a football field, a sports hall to double ground which can be used for tennis, with the volleyball and with the tennis shoe, does not have any more a ground of non covered tennis shoe following the construction of a building accommodating extra-curricular, a youth hostel and a church hall.It profits from technology A.D.S.L.
