Tournemire is a common French, located in the department of the Aveyron and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. Its inhabitants is called Tournemirois.
Located at 498 meters of altitude in the Massif Central with the foot of the Causse of Larzac and is crossed by the Soulzon.
It has a Gare the SNCF which is called Tournemire - Roquefort, on the line electrified of the Causses (not of passage of the Train Aubrac Paris - Béziers). The traffic rail-road was flourishing there before the Road transport (with the Gasoil) does not take the top. It was also the starting point of lines towards Saint-Affrique and Vigan. Towards this last direction the way had been deposited in the Fifties and had been rebuilt with beginning of the year 80 to serve the military camp of the Larzac, but was never used by a troop train.

One of the culinary specialities of Tournemire is the Quiche of Tournemire, which one known as excellent with (amongst other things) of the Vin of Saint-Chinian.
The Roquefort, celebrates Fromage is always present even on the most modest tables.
