Tournament of Wimbledon 1992

The Tournoi of Wimbledon 1992 was held June 22nd with the July 6th 1992.

After three failures finally (Roland-Garros 1990, US Open 1990, Roland-Garros 1991), the American Andre Agassi gained in London the first tournament of the Grand Slam of his career, at the end of a match epic against the Croat Goran Ivanisevic.

In the female tournament, the two better world players, the Yugoslavian Monica Saddles and Allemande Steffi Graf, clashed for a finale at the top. One month earlier, Monica Seles had come to end from its rival finally from Roland-Garros. Less at ease on grass, it could not prevent Steffi Graf taking its revenge and from being crowned for the fourth time at Wimbledon. It was the only major tournament which escaped there the Yugoslavian this year, and there remains the only one that it never gained.
